Weekly Walks

Want to meet friends and maintain your health and independence? Join a FREE Sound Steps weekly walking group for adults age 50+, offered throughout the city. We have groups for all levels of walkers. For more information or to try out a walking group, contact the Sound Steps coordinator at (206) 684-4664 or  Let the coordinator know before you start with a group, so the walk leader will know to look for you.

Senior Zoo Walkers      $20/13 wks

Lake City Sound Steps                   Free
Wednesday is “Senior Day” at Lake City Community Center. Come for lunch at noon ($3) and stay for the group walk! Call (206) 268-6738 for more information. This program is sponsored by Sound Steps and Sound Generations. Walks are designed for beginners.

Explore the beautiful and diverse Magnuson Park on foot. Varied terrain and flexible pace and distance; all ages welcome! Beginning 9/11/16

Lincoln Park Sound Steps                Free
3 miles, some hills, natural and paved surface trails along
Puget Sound. Moderate pace. Meet at the south end of the
north parking lot.

Alki Beach Walks                               Free
Meet at the Alki Bathhouse. Led by Southwest Recreation Specialist, Mary Dalzell.

Rainier Beach Indoor Walk              Free
Walk laps inside the gym at your own pace, with music.

Discovery Park Sound Steps                     Free
2.8 miles, some hills, natural surface trails with Puget
Sound views. Moderate pace. Meet at the visitor center.

Pike Place Market Sound Steps                 Free
3 miles, flat, paved, with waterfront views. At your
own pace. Meet at the Pike Market pig.
Thursdays      10 – 11 am

Yesler Terrace Sound Steps                          Free
Join Yesler Terrace residents on Mondays and Thursdays
for  a walk around the neighborhood. Click for flyer.

Yesler Walk ‘N Talkers                                   Free
 Walk to various Yesler, First Hill, and Pioneer Square cafes for a cup and conversation! Walks will gradually increase in distance, beginning at under a mile. Email for more information and prior to attending.

Iora Primary Care Walks for Health             Free
All walkers and rollers welcome! Join health coaches and neighbors on flat, paved walking routes around the CD and to the soft rubber track outside Garfield HS.

Capitol Hill Sound Steps                                   Free
Join Sound Steps and the Cal Anderson Park Alliance
for this bi-weekly evening group. Flat loops within the park;
flexible distance. Meet at the Shelter House near the restrooms.
